Towards Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, Russian invaders are constantly trying to regain their lost positions.
Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv regional state administration, said this on the United News telethon broadcast, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Our forces of Ukraine are actively fighting towards Kuyansk, where the enemy is constantly trying to counterattack and recapture previously lost positions,” Sinegubov said.
He noted that in the Kharkiv region, the settlements of the Kupyansky, Chuguevsky, Kharkov and Izyum regions are constantly exposed to enemy shelling.
As reported by Ukrinform, military operations are underway in the Kharkov region for the liberation of 29 settlements. As military observers noted earlier, the Russian army will continue to fight for this percentage of territory that remains occupied, since without this part of the Kharkiv region it will be impossible to hold Svatovo in the Luhansk region.
The Svatovo area is by far the most vulnerable operational flank for Russian forces, according to a letter from the British Defense Ministry published Monday, so they are likely to see maintaining control of the city as a priority.
