Novaya Gazeta noted that in St. Petersburg, in the Mariinsky Palace, after renovation, the pictures were hung in the gallery of honorary citizens of the city.
Previously, the exhibition opened with portraits of the first honorary residents of St. Petersburg – Academician Dmitry Likhachev, poet and siege survivor Olga Berggolts, and mountaineer Mikhail Bobrov.
Now there are other citizens and residents of the city in the place of honor: Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Patriarch Kirill.
Updated. The press service of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg reported that the Mariinsky Palace is still “remodeling the gallery, undergoing renovations, [пока] All the photos have been taken.” Parliament did not rule out the possibility of displaying the photos prominently in a new way. “It could happen. Maybe there is some logic to this. The gallery will look different. We add honorary citizens every year. During this invitation, 10 people were already added, and they simply couldn’t fit all in one place. They said “Rise” published in the press service.
The Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg meets in the Mariinsky Palace. It is located in Saint Isaac’s Square.
