Lebanon demands the Ukrainian embassy to hand over the fugitive “Mossad agent.”

The Lebanese authorities contacted the Ukrainian embassy in Beirut to request the extradition of a person suspected of collaborating with the Israeli Mossad, who had taken refuge in the diplomatic mission. This was reported by Agence France-Presse on Monday, March 30, citing the Director of the General Directorate of Lebanese Security, Hassan Choucair.

According to him, on March 10, the Ukrainian embassy requested permission for a Ukrainian who had lost his passport to leave the country through Beirut Airport. Upon investigation, intelligence found that the man was wanted on suspicion of involvement in a Mossad cell that was planning murders and bombings in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital.

On March 6, Israel reportedly bombed a building near where he was being held, and the suspect managed to escape and take refuge in the Ukrainian embassy. Five of his potential accomplices were arrested and put on trial.

In addition, on March 6, information emerged that the former commander of the Al-Quds unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ismail Qaani, could be executed on suspicion of collaborating with the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.
