Lithuania will not grant asylum to Russians fleeing mobilization – Landsbergis

Lithuania has officially announced that it will not grant asylum to Russians fleeing abroad due to Putin’s recently announced mobilization.

Ukrinform reported this in response to the words of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis.

“Lithuania will not host those who simply run away from responsibility. The Russians must stay and fight. Against Putin,” Landsbergis wrote in twitter.

Recall: The Baltic States and Poland introduced an entry ban on 19 September for Russians with a Schengen visa.

The European Union has also decided to suspend the agreement with Russia on simplified issuance of visas.

Russian evaders will also not be able to escape to Latvia or Finland. Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics said the country would not issue humanitarian or other types of visas to Russians evading the mobilization for security reasons.

In Finland against the background of partial mobilization in Russia decided to introduce restrictions on the entry of citizens of the aggressor country.
