Denmark vs Tunisia Preview

This match is part of a tough Group D that features the 2018 World Champion France. This game will be critical for both of these teams if they want to advance from the group stage to the playoffs.

Denmark are leaving the 2018 World Cup where they reached the round of 16 before being eliminated by Croatia. Denmark have also played well recently as they reached the Euro 2020 semi-finals and played very well in qualifying. They enter the tournament at number 10 in the FIFA World Rankings.

Tunisia for the first time in history will try to get out of the group stage. The team advances from the quarterfinals of the AFCON tournament. For Tunisia, they compete in the World Cup, ranking 30th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Denmark does have momentum for the World Cup as they recently beat France twice in the UEFA Nations League game. Star Christian Eriksen also returned to the team after he suffered a heart attack at Euro 2020.

None of these teams have pre-match injury problems and must be at full strength. Along with Eriksen, Denmark also has Kasper Dolberg, Pierre-Emil Højbjerg and Mikkel Damsgaard, making them big favorites for the match.

Denmark is currently a -180 pre-match favorite at odds of 2/2.5 over/under. In a match like this for Tunisia, their best hope would be to play tight defensively and see if Denmark would give up if things went bad at the end of the game.

Tunisia have proven to be a difficult team to score a goal as they enter the World Cup with eight straight clean sheets meaning no goals scored. Denmark enter the tournament with a good streak as they have won nine of their last ten games and have also not conceded a goal in their first eight games.

If Denmark has a weakness, then it can be productive as they do not have a clear leader in this category. However, defense was clearly the strong point of the team.

Tunisia will rely on several experienced players such as Youssef Msakni, Ali Maaloul, Wahbi Khazri and Naeem Sliti. Msakni is the captain of the team and he will try to lead the potential misfortune.

Denmark are rightfully the favorites for this matchup, while Tunisia will need some breaks to go their own way if they hope to get over the disappointment.
