Manchester United are fifth in the Premier League table after six games. Erik ten Hag’s Quarters have won their last four league games after losing their first two to collapse.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Liverpool are favorites to sign a Borussia Dortmund midfielder who is also wanted by the Red Devils. Elsewhere, the Old Trafford side are not following an Atletico Madrid striker, according to renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

On that note, here’s a rundown of Manchester United’s top transfer stories as of September 19, 2022:

Paul Robinson backs Liverpool to win race for Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham has admirers in the Premier League.

Paul Robinson believes Liverpool are the favorites to land Jude Bellingham next summer.

The English midfielder is also wanted by Manchester United. The Red Devils failed to convince the 19-year-old to join them in 2020 but are expected to reignite their interest in him next summer.

However, speaking to Football Insider, Robinson said Bellingham would be a perfect fit at Anfield and tipped the Reds to secure his signature.

“He fits perfectly at Liverpool. The way he plays and the system that Klopp plays, he’s a great choice. Bellingham is an incredibly talented footballer. He still has his best years ahead of him. He already has an incredible reputation His charisma on the ball is something special. I love watching him,” Robinson said.

He added:

“To realize what he has at such a young age is remarkable. I think he’s been really smart in the way he’s handled his career and his career path. It’s only a matter of time before that he goes back to England. I strongly suspect he will move to Liverpool because of the way they play. That suits him,” Robinson said.

Bellingham have scored three goals in ten games in all competitions this season.

Manchester United not watching Antoine Griezmann, says Fabrizio Romano

Antoine Griezmann is a long-term target for the Old Trafford hierarchy.

Fabrizio Romano says Manchester United are not watching Antoine Griezmann. The Red Devils have a long-term interest in the Frenchman, and recent reports have suggested the club could move for Griezmann in January.

However, in his column for Caught Offside, Romano denied these claims, saying:

“I am aware of the speculation that Manchester United inquired about Antoine Griezmann this summer, but my understanding is that there is not much to it. At the moment the situation is still unclear between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona for Griezmann, so there’s still nothing happening with the other clubs at the moment. Griezmann is 100% focused on Atletico Madrid.”

Griezmann, 31, is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid from Barcelona and has three goals in eight appearances in all competitions this season.

Noel Whelan praises Jadon Sancho’s response to disappointment

Jadon Sancho has been in impressive form this season.

Former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has welcomed Jadon Sancho’s response to his withdrawal from the England squad.

The Manchester United striker has not been included in the Three Lions squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Italy and Germany. Sancho responded by scoring in the UEFA Europa League on the same day the England squad was announced.

Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan said Sancho was heading in the right direction under Ten Hag.

The best response was the one he gave on Thursday – scoring a goal and putting on a good performance. It doesn’t get any better than that. He knows he has a lot of work to do and he is doing it the right way under Erik ten Hag,” Whelan said.

Whelan added that Sancho should be part of the Three Lions squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“He shows professionalism and maturity in the way he handled the situation – he doesn’t let himself get in the way, and that shows strength of character. A World Cup squad spot is there for him. it’s just about staying consistent and standing out. It will make it very hard for Gareth Southgate to ignore,” Whelan said.

Sancho has scored three goals in eight games in all competitions this season. The 22-year-old, however, hasn’t played for England for over a year.
