Managing capitalization and equity tables in fast growing companies can be tricky (and sometimes erratically), a fact that founders and employees often discover too late, ingrid reports. This has spawned a wave of software companies to help, and today the European leader in the package is announcing some funding to spur its own growth. Ledgy creates capitalization table management software specifically for companies and their employees operating in different countries and has raised $22 million.

Dear Sophie! My EB-2 priority date will be delayed by 2 years! What should I do?

Sophie answered three questions today about EB-1A green cards for extraordinary and multinational managers, EB-2 NIW and with PERM, and EB-3 for professionals. Here is the first one:

Dear Sophie,

I was so close! My priority date for my EB-2 permanent residence application was just nine days from the date listed on the September 2022 Visa Bulletin, but now the date on the October 2022 Visa Bulletin has been pushed back more than two years!

I am a software engineer and wanted to get a green card before changing jobs, but now I am rethinking my path. The only thing holding me back is that I have heard that employees will be fined if they leave their employer before they actually receive a green card.

What is your advice?

— Stumbled upon the Bulletin
