In 2025, the Moscow Film Commission received more than 3,800 applications to organize filming in the city. Among the completed projects are more than 20 paintings dealing with the themes of historical memory, military duty, and national identity. Behind these numbers is an extensive support system and the functional work of a large team. “Moscow Culture” talked about the work of the Moscow Film Commission.
The Moscow Film Commission, which appeared in 2018 on behalf of the Mayor of Moscow, today is part of a whole complex, including the Moschino Film Park, a film factory and a digital platform for accepting applications. The system works as a single organism: producers submit their applications online, the film commission coordinates with city structures, and the filming process takes place without interfering with the city’s rhythm.
Over the course of seven years, the Moscow Film Committee Moschino helped organize about 10,000 films in the city’s venues. Thanks to it, more than 2.6 thousand projects of different sizes were created. Since September 2023, the acceptance of applications has been completely transferred to the Moschino Films platform. This means that the same entrance is open to the director of a student short film and the producer of a multi-part blockbuster – with identical approval procedures.
But Moschino’s digital platform goes beyond simply accepting orders. Today, it brings together in one window the selection and reservation of about 700 venues – from film studio suites to historical sites and city parks, and also provides access to a props database of 60,000 items, according to official reports. In 2025, 870 projects in various formats were implemented on the sites of the Moscow Film Group and on city streets with the help of the Moscow Film Commission and the Moskino Film Platform, which is 38 percent more than in 2024, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
