Biography of Nandita Das
Nandita Das is an award winning Indian film actress and director. As an actress, she is best known for her critically acclaimed performances in Fire (1996), Earth (1998), Pawandar (2000) and Amar Bhuvan (2002).
As a director, he is best known for his directorial debut Frock (2008), which has won numerous national and international awards, including the French government’s Chevalier of the Art de des Letters.
He was born in New Delhi to Jatin Das, a famous Indian painter from Orissa and his Gujarati Hindu-Jain mother, writer Varsha.
He went to Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi. She holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Miranda House (University of Delhi) and a master’s degree from the Delhi School of Social Work. She was a good student and got first place in everything.

Nandita Das started her acting career in a theater troupe called Jannatya Munch. Rishi taught at Weli School.
Deepa Mehta is best known for her role in films like Aamir Khan, Pavander (directed by Jagmohan Mundra) and Amar Bhuvan (directed by Mrinal Sen) in Fire and Earth.
Das plays narrator / narrator in the children’s audiobook series “Under the Bunion” by Bear Tales. He was also the narrator in the audiobook of Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography by Circa Audiobooks “The Story of My Experiments with Truth”. He has also lent his voice to the Bengal Tiger series The Wonder Pets, a children’s series.

In 2008, he finished filming his first directorial debut, Frock. Frock is a fictional film based on a thousand true stories, set a month after the 2002 Gujarat massacre. In 2002, Das married his long-time boyfriend Soumya Chennai. The couple started an advertising agency called LeapFrog to produce socially conscious advertising films. The couple divorced in 2009. The first marriage lasted just three years and ended in divorce by mutual consent. After two months of dating Subodh Mascara, a Mumbai-based businessman, she married him on January 2, 2010 and moved to Mumbai.
