Negotiations with Russia and the United States have been postponed until next week – Meduza

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that on the initiative of the American side, trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the United States were postponed until next week – March 16-22.

According to him, the talks were scheduled to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Türkiye, but were postponed due to the war in the Middle East.

“We were ready to go to Turkey. This meeting was rescheduled. It was the American side that postponed it and said: ‘Let’s do it next week.’ This is the information we have today,” Zelensky said in response to journalists’ questions online.

Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine noted that talks with US representatives are taking place daily, so “we will see what the next date” of the meeting is.

Information that a new round of negotiations will take place next week was revealed in an interview with CNBC certain US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff. “We see signs that both sides are tired,” he said. “Let’s hope this is the beginning of a turning point.”

Russia did not announce anything about postponing the meeting.

Ukraine, Russia and the United States have held several rounds of trilateral negotiations since the beginning of 2026.

In January and early February, delegations met in Abu Dhabi, then negotiations took place in Geneva in mid-February. The next round of negotiations was scheduled for early March in Abu Dhabi.

After the start of the war between the United States and Israel with Iran, Zelensky said that they decided to postpone the new round due to hostilities in the Middle East.
