Police confirmed that attacker Vuk Borilović first fired at a family living in his rented house in the Medovin district of the city of Cetinje (southeast of the country). Using a hunting rifle, he first killed two children, aged eight and eleven, and wounded their mother, who later died in hospital, police director Zoran Brjanin, quoted by Hina, explained on Friday evening.

After killing his tenants, he went to his neighbors’ house and fatally shot two old men and their son, and also wounded their grandson. He then went outside and killed four people and injured five. According to eyewitnesses, the attacker fired more than a hundred bullets within an hour.Eh, according to Agerpres.

The police officer was critically injured while operatives tried to stop him, and emergency medical personnel were unable to get close to the victims.

As a result, the killer, who had no criminal record, was shot dead by a citizen, apparently a different neighbor, and not the police, Montenegrin prosecutor Andriyana Nastik confirmed on Friday.

Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic described the crimes as an unprecedented tragedy and said the entire country was in a state of shock.

The government has declared three days of mourning starting on Saturday for the tragedy that has taken place in this small country of just 600,000 people.
