Sir Paul McCartney has announced the imminent release of a new solo album. The album was named “Lin’s Dungeon Boys”. It will appear on streaming and on physical media on May 29.
As they say in press releaseThe Boys of Dungeon Lane is McCartney’s most introspective album. In it, the former Beatle talks about his childhood in post-war Liverpool, his family, and his friendships with John Lennon and George Harrison, long before the world heard about Beatlemania.
Dungeon Lane is a street in a working-class area of Liverpool, near which the McCartney family lived.
The album will include 14 songs. The first single released today is titled “Days We Left Behind”.
The track list looks like this:
- As you lie there
- Lost Horizon
- Days we left behind
- Ripples in the pond
- Mountain top
- Down south
- We are two
- Come inside
- You never know
- Our home page
- Life can be difficult
- The first night star
- Saint seller
- Momma Get By
Here’s what McCartney has to say about “Days We Left Behind”:
For me, this is very much a memory song. The album title “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” is taken from a line from this song. I often think about the days I’ve left behind, and I often wonder if I’m only writing about the past, but then I think: How can I write about anything else? There are a lot of Liverpool memories.
Paul McCartney’s previous solo album, McCartney III, was released in December 2020. In April 2021, this record was reissued under the name “McCartney III Imagined” – in the form of remixes made in collaboration with Beck, Ed O’Brien (Radiohead), Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Robert Del Naya (Massive Attack), Dominic Fike, Anderson Park, Phoebe. Bridgers, St. Vincent and Khrongbin.
