Specialists National Research University Higher School of Economics created a model to calculate “an indicator of a person’s subjective well-being,” reports I.Q. In a simple way, this can be called the definition of the level of happiness.

To calculate it, the researchers analyzed 7.2 million Russian posts on one of the popular social networks. Artificial intelligence acted as an emotion evaluator – various machine learning models for natural language processing.

Certain patterns (mood patterns) were found in the obtained material, depending on the time of day and days of the week. Namely:

– in the morning, the majority of Russians now have the lowest level of happiness;

– late in the evening – highest;

– weekends are much more filled with positive emotions than weekdays;

– Monday is really a “heavy day”. And also Tuesday and Wednesday – on these three days the happiness level is the lowest of the week;

– since Thursday it is going up (hurray, the weekend is coming!);

– we feel happiest on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

It also turned out that women generally show more emotions characteristic of joy than men on social networks.

The authors of the study published their work in a scientific journal Math.

INCIDENTALLY

Decreased mood in the morning and rising again in the evening is a characteristic feature of depressive states, one of the practicing psychiatrists told KP.RU. If in the morning “I don’t want to live” and “work, like hard labor”, then for a start it is worth going on vacation. Try to get enough sleep and rest completely. If after that in the morning life seems more gloomy to you than gloomy, then experts advise you to seek help from a psychologist or psychiatrist.
