Russians are limited in issuing visas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland has begun to develop a concept for the European Union, which will allow not issuing visas to Russian citizens. This statement was made by Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Piotr Wawrzyk.

The Deputy Minister explained that not all EU countries approve of a single visa ban for Russians. In particular, Germany, France and the Netherlands oppose it. “Due to the fact that it is impossible to overcome the resistance of these countries to suspend the visa facilitation agreement for Russian citizens, Poland is working on a new solution,” Wawrzyk said.

The idea of banning Russians from issuing visas has already been put forward by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. A similar appeal was made by the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, explaining his position by the fact that Russia allegedly constantly threatened its neighbors. And Estonia has already restricted Russians both issuing visas and entering the country.

Western countries have imposed economic, logistical sanctions and restrictions against Russia after the Russian Federation launched a special operation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that their goal is the abolition of Russia, a ban on its culture, a taboo on the truth about the history of the Russian Federation.
