Putin’s announcement of mobilization is a sign of weakness – von der Leyen and Truss joint statement

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Liz Truss discussed Russian aggression in Ukraine during a meeting at the UN General Assembly in New York.

This is stated in press release European Commission, reports Ukrinform.

In particular, they reportedly strongly condemned Russia’s actions in Ukraine and agreed that Putin’s recent calls to mobilize some of the population “are a sign that the Russian invasion is failing”.

“This is a sign of weakness,” Liz Truss and Ursula von der Leyen said in a joint statement.

It also noted that the head of the European Commission and the Prime Minister of Great Britain “remarked the courage and courage of the Ukrainian people and emphasized the shared obligation to support Ukraine in its struggle for as long as necessary”.

As Ukrinform reported, Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in Russia today. After this statement, the stock market in the Russian Federation collapsed by 10% and the Russians bought up all direct tickets to Yerevan and Istanbul.

Commenting on Putin’s decision, Britain’s defense secretary said the Russian president’s announcement of a partial mobilization was an admission that his plan to invade Ukraine had failed.
