Rapper Gunfest has been fined for ‘clear disrespect for society’ – Meduza

The Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed a fine of 95 thousand rubles on rapper Janfest (real name Ruslan Gomenov). About this I mentioned Metropolitan Courts Press Service.

The court concluded that in the text of one of the pieces, the musician “indecently” publishes information that “offends human dignity and public morals,” which shows “clear disdain for society.”

It is not specified which path we are talking about. The “Baza” channel, which is close to the security forces, claims that the protocol was established because of the song “Vika loves Bibi.”

Janfest was found guilty under the simple riot article (Part 3 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code).

The head of the Safer Internet Association, Ekaterina Mizulina, announced on March 17 that an administrative case had been opened against Janfest. The rapper’s song lyrics were sent for examination to determine whether they contain drug propaganda. Mediazona reports that starting in February, several of the rapper’s concerts – in Tomsk, Barnaul, Arkhangelsk and Voronezh – were cancelled. Janfest soon announced that it had decided to “rework and censor 25 pieces of music from the old catalog” in order to “fully comply with the requirements of Russian legislation.” According to him, this decision was made in December 2025.

As of March 1, online cinemas may not show content that “distorts” traditional values, and musicians may not sing about drugs. But you’re unlikely to notice anything – censorship has been with us for a long time
