A verdict has been issued in the case where İsmail C., who is an Afghan national, is on trial, who killed Alper Korkmaz by punching him in the middle of the street because of a text message sent by his girlfriend, TY, who is an Afghan national.

According to Enis Yıldırım’s report, the incident took place in the Gazipaşa District of Ortahisar District at night on March 16. Allegedly, İsmail C. saw the message of Alper Korkmaz on the phone of his Afghanistan girlfriend TY. Thereupon, İsmail C., who called Alper Korkmaz from his girlfriend’s phone, said that he wanted to talk.

PUNCHED IN THE DISCUSSION THAT OVERCOME TO THE STREET

İsmail C., who took his girlfriend with him, met with Alper Korkmaz in a cafe. The parties, who started to argue in the cafe, then went out to the street. Upon the growth of the debate, İsmail C. punched Alper Korkmaz. Korkmaz, who fell to the ground with the blow he received, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

ASKING THE REASON OF THE MESSAGE

İsmail C., who fled the scene with his girlfriend, was taken into custody by the police. In the statement of İsmail C., who stated that he asked the reason for the message sent to his girlfriend, it was learned that he said, “Alper fell to the ground while shaking my hand in the discussion that broke out”.

His girlfriend TY, whose statement was taken as a witness, stated that she was jealous after seeing the message of her lover, and said that Alper was also his friend and could not calm the parties. İsmail C., who was transferred to the courthouse after his statement was taken, was arrested in the court where he was taken.

2 DIED AFTER SURGERY

Alper Korkmaz, who had two surgeries in the hospital, lost a week-long battle for life.

The defendant İsmail C., the victim’s family and the lawyers of the parties attended the trial at the Trabzon 1st High Criminal Court. The prosecutor, who gave his opinion, demanded that the accused be punished for the crime of “causing death by negligence”. The lawyer of the complainant, Ahmet Abdullah Çıtlak, demanded that the accused be punished for “deliberate killing”.

Apologizes To The Family Of The Victim

The defendant İsmail C., whose last word was asked by the president of the court, stated that he did not want to kill Alper Korkmaz and apologized to the victim’s family.

The court decided that the accused should be sentenced to 5 years in prison for the crime of “causing death by negligence” and that the provocation reduction should not be applied. Considering the time spent in detention, the court decided to release the accused on condition of judicial control.
