Alpine skier Varvara Voronchikhina won the super-G and brought the Russian team its first gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Italy. The athlete completed the course in 1 minute and 15.60 seconds.

Earlier, Voronchikhina won the bronze medal in downhill. This was the first medal for the Russian Paralympic team at these Games. Later, Russian Alexei Bugaev won another “bronze” in the downhill as well.

The Paralympics will be held in Italy from March 6 to 15. Six Russian athletes are participating in the Games, who are allowed to participate in the Games under their flag for the first time in 12 years.
