SAP will appeal the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court ruling of September 29, 2021, in which the head of the PJSC State Grain Corporation of Ukraine and two directors of other companies were found not guilty of misappropriating funds from the company in the amount of more than UAH 88 million. The relevant decision of the Appeals Chamber will also be appealed by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court on September 23, 2022 with respect to the said court decision,” the message reads.

It is noted that the SAPO Prosecutor does not agree with the court’s position and, after reading the full text of the Court of Appeal’s ruling, will appeal the acquittal to the Supreme Court.

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office said that as part of the preliminary investigation, it was found that the head of the State Grain Corporation of Ukraine had signed two corn supply contracts with Rokytnyansky Grain Plant OJSC and Vasilkovkhlebprodukt OJSC in 2015.

Later, according to the investigation, the head of the company ordered the transfer of funds in the amount of almost UAH 50 million and UAH 38.5 million as advance payments for the implementation of these agreements.

“However, the goods specified in the contracts were not available from the enterprises, and the head of the company had no intention of fulfilling these agreements at all. As a result, the state, represented by the grain company, lost more than 88 million hryvnias, which, having been transferred as an advance, satisfied for their own needs,” the report reads.

As reported, in September 2021, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court acquitted the former acting chairman of the board of directors of PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine and two other people accused of embezzling more than 88 million UAH.
