Sergey Sobyanin announced the start of accepting applications for participation in the Moscow Professional Excellence Championship “Appelimpics-2026”

On March 16, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced, through his channel in the national messaging program MAX, the start of accepting applications for participation in the Moscow Professional Excellence Championship “Applimpics-2026”.

The city mayor noted that this project is the largest platform for starting and developing the professional lives of Moscow residents with special needs.

“Participants can showcase their skills and get internships or job offers from leading employers,” he said.

In 2025, thanks to the tournament, nearly 700 Muscovites with disabilities were able to find employment. Sergei Sobyanin explained that this year the competition will be held in 65 areas, 12 of which are new competencies in demand among employers.

For example, for the industrial sector, the competencies “metrology” and “auto body repair” are included. At the request of the Moscow Prosthetics and Orthopedics Foundation, the competency “Prosthetics Technician” was developed.

The mayor added: “New professions also include social rehabilitation specialist, graphic designer, and tourist guide.”

He also said that more than 200 urban companies are cooperating with the project, helping to develop competitive tasks and evaluating their implementation.

“The strongest participants of the Moscow tournament will represent the capital at the national tournament of the Olympic Games,” said Sergei Sobyanin.

Competition applications are being accepted until April 12. And Muscovites over 14 years old can apply.
