Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the townspeople on the Day of Housing and Public Utility Workers. He stressed that winter represents a serious challenge, and that utilities from the first days of the year until the end of February actively fought record snowfall with the support of workers in the energy and construction sectors and related companies.
Labor strains in city services
More than 600,000 people now work in the capital’s public utility system, and among them are entire lineages with a combined experience of more than a hundred years.
