The Oakland Athletics have released Venezuelan shortstop Elvis Andrus, the American League West division team announced Wednesday.

Andrus, 33, has appeared in 106 games this season with the A’s, hitting a .237 batting average with eight home runs, 30 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
