Space Week, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first manned space flight, will be held from April 6 to 12 at VDNKh, in cultural institutions and parks of the capital. Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergonina spoke about this on Saturday, April 4.
– The program has been prepared by more than 260 cultural venues and seven parks. They invite you to meetings with astronauts, exhibitions and excursions dedicated to Yuri Gagarin, musical evenings and thematic competitions, Sergunina noted.
Thus, on April 9, the Astronaut Museum will host the grand opening of the exhibition “Heart of the First. On the 65th Anniversary of the First Manned Space Flight.” It is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of SP Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia and the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
On holidays, the main place at VDNKh will be “Cosmonautics and Aviation”. There will be a tour there on April 7th. Residents and guests of the capital will learn how ordinary Soviet men became the first cosmonauts and whom Sergei Korolev called his “eagles”.
In addition, on April 9, the Zelenograd Museum will host a creative evening entitled “Through thorns to the stars.” Those interested will be able to hear stories about the local contribution to space exploration, poetry and musical compositions.
On April 4, the “April Science Festival” also begins at the Scientific and Educational Center “Reserve Embassy” in Zaryadye Park. It is designated as Geologist’s Day, Astronauts’ Day and DNA Day.
