my hero academia Chapter 373 was released on Sunday, November 20, bringing with it the probable end of the mutant march on Central Hospital. Fans were quite surprised to see Kurogiri’s personality dominate Oboro Shirakumo’s body after Present Mic and Spinner called out Shirakumo and Kurogiri respectively.

However, my hero academia Chapter 373 dropped a few clues in this reveal that could foreshadow the eventual reveal of Shirakumo in command. Although still speculative, there is key evidence in the matter that supports such a theory.

Follow this article summarizing fully my hero academia chapter 373 in its entirety.

my hero academia Chapter 373 Could Linguistically Foreshadow Oboro Shirakumo’s Long-Awaited Return

my hero academia Chapter 373: Shoji’s Determination and a Message to the Mutant Kind

my hero academia Chapter 373 begins with Mezo Shoji and Koji Koda still outside Central Hospital, remembering Present Mic’s words. He asked the two to do whatever it takes to keep people out of the hospital, as they are seen fighting various mutant civilians. As the two fight in their respective battles, a mutant charges Shoji with a weapon, but is suddenly stopped.

It is revealed that the Pig-Man from the final issue is the one who arrested his fellow Mutant, telling the crowd that he thinks they are using their anger the wrong way. However, General PLF, still attacked by Koda, attempts to incite the mutants once again by reminding them of the abuse they have suffered and how others have overlooked their pain.

The Pig-Man, however, responds by saying he thinks about the abuse he suffered, sharing that his blood boils remembering it. He walks away here as he and other mutants stand by Shoji’s side, before the Pig-Man jokes about his indecisiveness and explains how excited he was when he heard about the call to the action.

However, he points out that the whole world is too big a group to generalize, saying he couldn’t bring himself to hurt anyone inside the hospital. my hero academia Chapter 373 then sees General PLF cursing Shoji and trying to convince the mutants once again to keep going and not stop to think about what Shoji or anyone else is saying.

Part of the group resumes their march here, while the Man-Pig continues to ask if he was wrong about everything and if he should have stayed home and shut up. Shoji, however, starts speaking here, saying that the feelings that made everyone stand up today aren’t unnecessary or wrong.

my hero academia chapter 373 sees him go on to say that those who actually hurt them “have yet to be drawn into the light”, as the heroes and mutants reconcile. He continues that those who haven’t stopped thinking about all their pain and abuse are shining and shining examples for him. He ends by saying that they should use the light to change those who have inflicted harm on them into shame for having done so.

my hero academia Chapter 373: Reaching Out To A Friend

Spinner is still holding one of Shigaraki’s hands, still thinking he can still be there to wake up by putting it on his face like in PLW😢😢

After a brief scene with Rock Lock rallying the heroes to help out at Central Hospital, my hero academia chapter 373 moves to Present Mic vs. Spinner. The former just knocked the latter over with an explosion of voices, shattering the voice recorder Spinner was carrying with All For One and Shigaraki’s voices on it.

Spinner is confident that Kurogiri won’t wake up now, saying he knows what to do given the situation. Present Mic, meanwhile, thinks about how since he and Aizawa visited the captive Kurogiri/Shirakumo (KuroKumo), he has remained silent ever since. my hero academia Chapter 373 even sees Mic wondering if KuroKumo is really broken beyond repair.

Spinner, meanwhile, has all of his Quirks deactivate at once, leaving him on the verge of passing out and unable to move his body. He thinks about how no one supports him and how he can’t wake up Kurogiri, thinking about his past and how all he wanted was to follow Shigaraki until the bad guy “could stand “.

Mouth saying that Aizawa has already lost an eye and a leg and he also can’t lose the good memories he has with his friends. He knows how much Aizawa has suffered and he just wants to make sure he has at least one happy memory to hold him up. HE JUST WANTS HE TO BE HAPPY. #MHA373

Spinner apparently notices the hand of Shigaraki’s old outfit on the floor here, while Present Mic rushes over to Spinner thinking of his youth with Aizawa and Shirakumo. Mic even thinks about how Aizawa has already lost an eye and a leg, saying that if he’s not Shirakumo anymore, he should disappear and leave them the memories they had.

Mic starts to say something in case he ends up proving himself to be Shirakumo, but Spinner suddenly grabs Shigaraki’s hand thinking about their time together. This gives him the motivation he needs to put his hands on KuroKumo’s face, telling him that he must save Shigaraki as Present Mic watches horrified.

my hero academia Chapter 373 then sees KuroKumo come to life, with the black mist swirling around and revealing aspects of Shirakumo’s face below. As Mic watches in horror and Spinner passes out, the awakened KuroKumo tells Present Mic that he is the one protecting Tomura Shigaraki, revealing himself as Kurogiri.

Some people have pointed out something very interesting: in the last page, Kurogiri uses “ore” to refer to himself. That’s not how he usually talks, he’s a “watashi” type. Do you know who uses the ore? It’s true, Shirakumo 😶😶‍🌫️ #MHA373

However, the Japanese release of this issue may hint that Shirakumo is the one actually in control here rather than Kurogiri. In the Japanese version, Kurogiri uses “ore” to refer to himself rather than “watashi”, which he would typically use. Additionally, Shirakumo, as well as many teenagers in shonen manga, usually used “ore” to refer to themselves.

With this in mind, fans suspect that it is indeed Oboro Shirakumo who is in control at the end of my hero academia chapter 373. Unfortunately, with this statement from Kurogiri coming on the last page of the issue, fans have no other information with which to propagate this theory as of this writing other than the aspects of Shirakumo’s face that are visible.

my hero academia Chapter 373: In Summary

Although somewhat slow and uneventful in its first half of the Mutant’s concluding assault on Central Hospital, my hero academia chapter 373 ends with a quick and shocking second half. Nonetheless, the entire landscape of this presumed final arc of the series has changed, and the exact final impact will depend on whether Kurogiri or Shirakumo is truly in control.

Unfortunately, fans probably won’t find out for a while. In true Horikoshi fashion, fans can expect the next issue to bounce the outlook from this stunning and incredible development. While there are definitely some fan theories about who’s in control, fans probably won’t have definitive answers on this for a while.

To finish, my hero academia Chapter 373 featuring the mutants coming to their senses and ending their march is an extremely nice touch. It also gave Shoji and Koda plenty of time to shine, which they haven’t had much of throughout the series before this time.
