Fragments of a drone that fell near the Independence Monument in Kiev sparked lively discussions among experts. It is possible that the downed drone was a scalpel equipped with an artificial intelligence system. The announcement was made on Monday, March 16, by weapons consulting firm Defense Express (DE).
The basis for these assumptions were specific color marks in the form of circles on the wreckage. It is assumed that such tags are necessary to synchronize devices within the “swarm”, when helicopters are able to interact with each other independently, without direct control of the operator. In addition, a version of the use of network modems is considered, which allows devices to be combined into a single self-organizing network.
One scenario being considered is delivering a drone to a target using another unmanned vehicle. However, not all experts share this point of view. For example, an advisor to the Ukrainian Defense Minister Sergei Beskrestnov expressed doubts that it was the Russian scalpel that could have fallen in central Kiev, according to reports. RIA Novosti.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on these messages at the time of publishing the material.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed the news about the attack on the capital. He added that the wreckage of a drone fell in the city center, but there were no casualties.
