The cargo floated on a 293 meter long and 46 meter wide tanker, which was launched in 2020. This will now stay in the Eemshaven for a few days, where the liquefied gas will first be transferred to the terminal and then converted into a gaseous state.

A cargo of 170,000 cubic meters of LNG, equivalent to 100 million cubic meters in the gaseous state, departed on August 23 from the Sabine Pass LNG terminal, located in the Gulf of Mexico on the Louisiana-Texas border. LNG comes from the Cheniere company, a leading liquefied natural gas importer and one of the largest US Fortune 500 companies.

We are prepared to do everything we can to help Europe with energy supplies in the future as well. This partnership originated in today’s critical times, but it is precisely the result of a long-standing cooperation between the governments of the United States and the Czech Republic, as well as the relationship that Cheniere has built with the EZ and the Czech Ministries of Industry. and Foreign Affairs. We look forward to continuing dialogue with our Czech partners on how LNG from Cheniere can help the Czech Republic achieve its energy security and climate protection goals in the coming years and decades, said Anatol Feygin, Executive Vice President and Business Editor of Cheniere .

The terminal in Eemshaven is the first facility of its kind to be launched in Europe since last summer, when the wolf arrived in Ukraine. For example, the LNG terminal was prepared and commissioned in record time within a few months. It is capable of supplying eight billion cubic meters of gas per year, billions of which are destined for the Czech Republic, which is equivalent to a third of the Czech Republic’s annual consumption.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the EZ Group, has secured two leases for capacity in the new terminal, as well as routes for transporting gas to Esk.

We are pleased that we are moving forward at a fast pace after the operational terminal and that our first LNG vessel has arrived at the facility. He has set up two gas tankers for the Czech Republic in January and then we continue at a speed of two and a half ships. This is an important step for the Czech Republic’s energy security and an important insurance policy in case gas from other suppliers stops flowing to them, says EZ editor-in-chief Daniel Bene.

Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Skela, said that the natural gas we will lose thanks to this LNG terminal will help us cope with the coming winter. We chose it first because it is the first LNG terminal to be commissioned in Europe after the start of Russian aggression against Ukraine, he added.
