The first plane from Qatar arrives in Moscow after the resumption of air traffic

The first passenger plane from Doha arrived at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport after the return of regular flights with Qatar. This was reported by the airport press service on Wednesday, March 18.

The Qatar Airways flight successfully landed in the capital. Passengers are currently being checked in for the return flight. TASS.

On March 13, the media wrote that amid the conflict in the Middle East, about 300 tourists from Russia were unable to return home from Qatar: their flights were constantly cancelled. On the same day, the Russian Embassy in Qatar told reporters that diplomats were negotiating with Qatar Airways to organize a flight to Moscow.

On the same day, it was learned that the Qatari authorities decided to end the free accommodation and meals program for tourists who were unable to leave the country due to the airspace closure. The Russian Embassy in Doha said the program will be in effect until March 15, after which tourists will need to either leave hotels or extend their stay at their own expense.

On March 10, the Qatar Airways passenger plane, which arrived on Monday evening, March 9 at Sheremetyevo from Doha, returned to Qatar. The flight was the first in nine days after direct flights were interrupted due to the American and Israeli military operation against Iran.

Earlier, ATOR said that more than 15 hotels in Dubai were included in the so-called blacklist to expel Russian tourists and sharply increase prices.
