The FIA has announced that two stages of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, which were supposed to be held in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in April, have been officially canceled due to the situation in the Middle East.

The press service said in a statement that several alternative options were considered, but in the end it was decided not to carry out any replacement stages in April.

The Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 1 Academy stages have also been cancelled.

The decision to cancel was taken in consultation with the FIA and the promoters concerned. FIA President Mohammed Bin Sulayem added: “Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are very important to our racing season ecosystem, and I look forward to returning to both countries as soon as possible.”

As a result, 22 of the 24 races planned for this season will be held. From March 27 to 29, the Grand Prix stage will be held in Japan, and the next stage after the canceled April stage will be held in Miami on May 3.
