The German national team has protested against the ban on wearing OneLove’s captain’s armband at the 2022 World Cup, the official said pronunciation Bundestim on Twitter, reports Ukrinform.

The Bundesteam players covered their mouths with their hands in an official photo before the World Cup match against Japan.

“With our captain, we wanted to set an example of the values ​​we hold dear in the national team: diversity and mutual respect. Together with other peoples we wanted to be heard. This is not a political statement: human rights are non-negotiable. This should be taken for granted, but unfortunately it still isn’t. That’s why this message is so important to us. Forbidding us to wear the captain’s armband is tantamount to closing our businesses,” the German national team said in a statement.

It was previously reported that the captains of England, Wales, Germany and other European countries will not wear the OneLove headband at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to the threat of warning players. The captains intended to wear the rainbow headband to promote diversity and inclusion.

As Ukrinform reported, Germany sensationally lost to Japan (1:2) in the first round of the World Cup. In the second round, the Germans will play Spain on November 27.
