The Russian Ministry of Finance is not currently considering imposing additional taxes on banking operations. This was announced by State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Sazanov on Wednesday, March 25.
According to him, the administration continues to monitor the implementation of the changes adopted last year. Decisions on the need for modifications will be made in the fall.
“At the moment, we do not plan to impose additional VAT on banking transactions,” Sazanov was quoted as saying. TASS.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree imposing restrictions on the export of cash exceeding $100,000 to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
On March 19, Sazanov announced that the Russian Ministry of Finance was studying the possibility of gradually introducing value-added tax (VAT) on foreign goods from the market. The latter type of tax burden remains under consideration by the government.
On January 14, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation decided to abolish the preferential VAT system for servicing bank cards.
