In Uzhgorod, housing will be built on state land, with the subsequent free transfer of some of the apartments to the state to meet the needs of IDPs.

This was announced by deputy head of the cabinet of President Kyrylo Tymoshenko in Telegramreports Ukrinform.

“Today, a project was presented in Uzhgorod to accommodate IDPs. These are multi-apartment buildings where people can get temporary housing. Here in Uzhgorod, residential buildings will be built on state land with the subsequent free transfer of part of the apartments to the state to meet the needs of displaced persons,” Tymoshenko said.

According to him, as a customer, the state-owned company will receive 10% – 1000-1200 square meters of housing, respectively.

Tymoshenko noted that the investor has offered to allocate part of the square meters of housing to the house, which will go into operation in October this year.

“The apartments will be renovated and furnished by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. This will make it possible to get housing for IDPs without drawing resources from the state budget,” said the OP’s deputy head.

Tymoshenko also informed about the signing of a memorandum between the Transcarpathian OVA, “Traksler Development” and the UNHCR office in Ukraine.

“This experience can be used in other regions of Ukraine so that people can get housing quickly – this is our goal. So we will get locations where IDPs can stay without attracting public funds, which are now needed by the armed forces,” Tymoshenko stressed.
