The priorities of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are to receive NASAMS and IRIS-T

One of the priorities of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is now the reception of air defense systems such as IRIS-T and NASAMS.

Yury Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in the broadcast of the telethon, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We have to count their missiles. We need to step up, because indeed the ambassadors who write from the basements and react so emotionally (to Russian shelling – ed.) Should do everything that Ukraine gets more air defense systems – for example NASAMS, IRIS-T – this is now a priority for the airforce. And this is something that works quite effectively,” he said.

Ignat noted that we won’t be able to get IRIS-T too soon. “But you have to think about NASAMS, because here it would really help a lot,” says the Air Force representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Answering a question, he said that Ukraine would like to receive not only these complexes, but also, for example, Patriot complexes.

“I would like more support from the world, because you see that terrorism continues, and other countries are suffering – because of the aggression of the Russian Federation. The Air Force, for its part, is doing everything it can to defend itself. We have no choice. In any case, we will destroy everything that flies on the heads of the Ukrainians,” Ignat assured.

According to him, the NASAMS and IRIS-T systems we employ are very efficient and of very high quality.

“In addition to them, the air defense of the ground forces is also being supplemented. We’ve seen recent deliveries (from a number of countries – ed.). The United States, among others, supplements them in particular with small air defenses, that is, at close range, but it is also extremely necessary to resist the same Iranian kamikaze drones,” added the Air Force Representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ignat let it be known that there are also Hawk complexes. According to him, these are quite common in the world of air defense systems. Ignat specified that these complexes could soon be in combat service and augment the existing air defense system.

The representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not rule out repeated attacks.

There may be repeated strikes. This is understandable, and it happened more than once that several times a day (Russians – ed.) There were strikes, during which rocket attacks with kamikaze drones were intensified. We have to be ready for all scenarios,” he said.
