US President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Iran is responsible for the attack on a girls’ school in Minab, in the south of the country.
The US President responded to a press representative’s question: “From what I saw, the Iranians did that.”
The journalist then went to Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, asking whether this statement was true. He replied: “We are conducting an investigation, but the only party attacking civilians is Iran.”
Trump added: “We believe the Iranians did it… You know, their munitions are very inaccurate. They have no accuracy at all.” He did not provide any evidence for his words.
A girls’ school in Minab came under fire on February 28, the first day of a new war in the Middle East. CNN reported that the raid killed more than 180 people.
According to Iranian official media, Tehran blamed Washington for the attack on the Minab School. American publications, including the New York Times, Reuters and CNNIt was reported that the US military may be involved in the strike.
In particular, the New York Times noted that the target of the US Air Force was the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps base in Minab, and it is possible that the attack on the school was carried out by mistake.
