Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov said that Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
RBC quoted Ushakov: “The conversation was practical, frank and constructive. As usually happens in dialogue between Russian and American leaders. They did not speak on the phone for a long time, and the last time was in December 2025.”
The conversation lasted about an hour and took place at Trump’s initiative. According to Ushakov, the main topics of the conversation were the war in the Middle East and negotiations to end Russia’s war with Ukraine.
Putin expressed a number of considerations for a quick political and diplomatic end to the war with Iran. He also praised the efforts of the United States and Trump to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.
