Trump promised NATO a “bad future” if it refused to help in the Strait of Hormuz

NATO faces a “very bad future” if member states refuse to help the United States open the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump spoke about this on Sunday, March 15.

“If there is no response or it is negative, I think this will have a very bad impact on the future of NATO,” he said in an interview with the Financial Times.

According to him, the United States “should not have helped” the alliance with Ukraine, but it provided assistance anyway.

– Now let’s see if they will help us. The US President added: “Because I have been saying for a long time that we are ready to help them, but they are not ready to be with us.”

Trump stressed his readiness to accept any assistance, including sending minesweepers to the region. He also hinted at the possibility of attracting European special forces to neutralize the Iranian army that launches drones or plants mines in the Persian Gulf.

On March 12, NATO’s Supreme Commander in Europe, General Alexus Grinkevich, announced the readiness of the United States of America to respond harshly to any country that helps Iran in attacks on American forces in the Middle East.
