US President Donald Trump said that the United States will resume bombing Iran if Tehran does not adhere to “this agreement.” He wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.
Until the agreement is fully respected, US ships, aircraft and forces will remain in place.
Trump’s post said: “All US ships, aircraft and military personnel, with additional ammunition and weapons… will remain in place in and around Iran until this agreement, which has been reached, is fully complied with. If for some reason this does not happen, which is highly unlikely, the firing will begin, larger, more advanced, and more powerful than ever before.”
He pointed out that despite all the “false rhetoric”, the agreement between Iran and the United States implied Tehran’s abandonment of nuclear weapons and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, which should be safe for ships.
The United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire. Trump said the United States “met and exceeded” all military goals and received a ten-point proposal from Iran that “could serve as a working basis for negotiations.” Tehran stated that the plan that Trump is talking about includes guarantees of non-aggression against the Islamic Republic, its control over the Strait of Hormuz, recognition of its right to enrich uranium, the lifting of all sanctions, and the payment of compensation.
