United Nations, 21 September (EFE). British Prime Minister Liz Truss promised this Wednesday at the UN that her country is going to send more weapons to Ukraine and will continue to do so until Russia is defeated.

“Ukrainians are not only defending their country, they are defending our values and the security of all,” Truss told the UN General Assembly in his first major speech at an international forum.

The new head of the British government assured that he would maintain or increase military support for Ukraine “for as long as necessary.”

“As I speak, new weapons are coming to Ukraine from the United Kingdom,” said Truss, who insisted her country would not rest “until Ukraine wins.”

The conservative leader responded to the mobilization of reservists with a decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his threat to use nuclear weapons, assuring that the Kremlin was “trying to justify its disastrous failures.”

Political project Trassa

Truss also took the opportunity to present his political project to the world, pointing to economic growth as a high priority and promising tax cuts.

“We want people to keep more of the money they earn so they can have more control over their lives and be able to contribute to the future,” he said.

His goal, he said, is to give the British “the progress they expect” and “to lead a new United Kingdom for a new era” after the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of Charles III.

“We want this era to be an era of hope and progress, when we uphold the values of personal freedom, self-determination and equality before the law,” he explained.
