Russia will be banned from qualifying for Euro 2024, confirmed UEFA, as the country remains suspended from international competition following the invasion of Ukraine.
Uefa’s decision to ban all Russian teams from international competition was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in July following an appeal by the Russian football federation.
Russia was kicked out of the March World Cup play-offs by FIFA and was also banned from competing in the Women’s Euro Cup in England this summer.
Russian clubs have also failed to compete in the Champions League this season.
Russia has not played a senior men’s international match since 14 November 2021.
However, the Bosnia and Herzegovina football federation has confirmed that a friendly against Russia has been scheduled for November despite the ongoing international ban.
The draw for the qualifiers for Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany, will take place in Frankfurt on 9 October.
