Ukrainian armed forces to receive kamikaze drones from Lithuania in October-November – Ambassador

The kamikaze drones purchased by Lithuania with money raised through Legion Of Boom will be delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in October-November.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Lithuania Petr Beshta said this during an online briefing on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The diplomat recalled that since the beginning of the Russian aggression, Lithuania has provided Ukraine with military assistance amounting to about EUR 120 million, which is about 2% of the country’s GDP. Lithuanian society has also joined in providing aid to Ukraine, including military aid.

“We all remember the first Lithuanian marathon raising money for Bayraktar in May. Andrius Tapinas (journalist – ed.) Andrius Tapinas also held a marathon in August to purchase kamikaze drones for Ukraine. This project is underway. We expect that somewhere in October- By November, these kamikaze drones will already be in the Ukrainian army,” Beshta said.

As Ukrinform reported, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anushauskas said on August 26 that Lithuania would purchase 37 kamikaze drones for Ukraine with funds raised as part of the Legion Of Boom company.

The Legion of Boom campaign to raise money for the armament of Ukraine, organized by Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas, was dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day. According to Tapinas, Lithuanians had donated 1.545 million euros at the time the fundraiser was completed.

As Tapinas reported in facebook27 Polish Warmate kamikaze drones will be purchased at a cost of 1 million euros, and their manufacturer, WB Group, will provide ten additional drones to Ukraine for free.
