USA vs Australia Preview

Things did not go as planned for a stacked Team USA squad against Nigeria, with the African country pulling out a 90-87 win. The American squad entered the matchup 54-2 in exhibition games since professionals started playing in 1992, per ESPN. The US had beat Nigeria 110-66 in their most recent matchup and 156-73 in during the 201 Olympics.

Nigeria made 20 of 42 3s to pull off the upset against the US All-Stars. Nigeria carried seven NBA players on their roster, however, none of them were household names.

“It was an exhibition and at the end of the day it doesn’t mean much in the standings,” said Nigeria coach Mike Brown, who is an assistant with the Golden State Warriors. “But it’s a good win for us. I don’t think any African team has been able to beat USA Basketball.”

As Team USA coach Gregg Popovich pointed out, it’s better it happens now than later in the month in Tokyo.

“In a way I’m kind of glad it happened,” Popovich said. “It means nothing if we don’t learn from it. It could be the most important thing in this tournament for us. To learn lessons from this.”

Team USA now has to figure things out with Australia coming to town — another squad that boasts some NBA talent like Patty Mills, Aron Baynes, Matisse Thybulle and Joe Ingles. The Australian team are hopeful to wrangle a medal in Tokyo this year.

“Unfinished business is in the forefront of all our minds,” Baynes said. “We’re all excited to get out there and chase that gold medal. There’s so much young talent coming through in Australian basketball that we’re excited to incorporate into the Boomers system and hopefully lets us take that next step. When we can mix that and incorporate that team chemistry quickly, that will be key to our success.

“It’s the highest honor for us playing basketball to get to play with our mates who have all grown up together and are second family now. We just want to carry that over and instill it in the young guys.”

Meanwhile, the US team is just looking to find chemistry to go with their wealth of talent.

“None of us have ever played with each other, we’re just trying to figure it out,” Team USA’s Jason Tatum said. “We don’t have three to four weeks. This is good for us, we’ll learn a lot from the film and we’ll regroup.”

Team USA is a 16.5-point favorite for the matchup.

What Shows Are on Curiosity Stream?

If you’ve got a need to learn something new, there are plenty of great options on Curiosity Stream. Here are just a few highlights available now:

What to Do If Curiosity Stream Is Not Working On Your Roku?

If Curiosity Stream isn’t working on your Roku device, there are a few things you can try.

The most likely culprit for Curiosity Stream not working on Roku devices is a slow internet connection. You need at least a 5Mbps connection to stream in the lowest resolution, and 15Mbps for 4K. But if your device isn’t getting those speeds, there are a couple of things I would try first.

  1. Restart your router and unplug your Roku device.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Plug your Roku device back in.

This will help restart your device’s TCP/IP and internet connection settings so that you have the best chance of getting the best speeds.

If that doesn’t work and you’re still getting slow speeds, it could be due to a crowded network or downloads on other devices. For example, if you’re downloading a game update on STEAM on your PC, any game consoles, or someone else in your home is streaming a movie while you’re trying to watch CuriosityStream, it could cause your Roku to not have the required speed juice it needs to work properly. To most easily rectify the problem, turn off the internet connection on those devices and see if this helps CuriosityStream work again.

Something else you can try if your device is still not working after fixing your internet connection is to ensure you have the latest Roku software on your device. If you don’t, you need to update your device to the latest software for best results.

To do so, go Roku Home>scroll to Settings>Select System>Select System Update>Select Check Now. If Roku finds any new software available or channel updates available, it will download them and install them automatically.

  • Fire TV Stick 4K

Internet Speed Requirements for 4K

If you’re planning to stream Curiosity Stream in glorious 4K resolution, you’re going to need an internet connection of at least 25 Mbps (megabits per second). If you’re not sure exactly what internet speed you currently have, head on over to speedtest.net, run the test, and take a look at the first number that pops out (your download speed). If that number reads 25 Mbps or above, you’re good to go for 4K streaming. If it’s slightly lower, you should try to stream Curiosity Stream in 4K to see if it works. And, if it’s anything below 15 Mbps, you’ll need to call up your internet provider and see if there’s an upgrade available.
