Gijón, 23 September (EFE).- “Tierrina” shares the lead role with Victor Manuel in the new symphony tour that the singer-songwriter from Mieres organized for his 75th birthday and which took him this Friday to the Teatro de la Laboral in Gijón , in the first of three consecutive concerts offered in the Principality, with a dedicated audience and tickets all sold out in a matter of months.

The first of three performances of “Víctor Manuel Sinfónico” that the artist offers in his region, followed by another Saturday morning and closing on Sunday, began with the mythical “Asturias”, considered by many to be the autonomous community’s unofficial anthem, followed by songs that exude the essence of their land with references to shepherds, gourds, coal, La Santina, or cities like Gijón, Laviana, or their hometown, Mieres.

Accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias (OSPA) and the Choir of the Princess of Asturias Foundation, Mirense delighted a devoted audience with his classic songs, among which are “I bring the red shirt”, “El grandfather Vítor”. or “Dance of the Cuelebre”.

The Asturian singer-songwriter, who he assured this week has no plans to retire from the stage, is resurrecting on his tour songs from his recital “Vivir para sing it” and six more he composed in subsequent years. .

As with A Life to Tell a Tale, this time there will also be a live album recorded during tomorrow’s Saturday session, which the author hopes will “be released immediately and on the first try”.

The decision to make a concert similar to the one in 1999 was made after sound engineer Victor Manuel praised the quality of this recording, despite the small number of rehearsals and funds.

“I have the impression that now I sing better than 30 years ago, experience has given me something, although, however, age has taken something away from me,” the singer-songwriter from Mieres assured this week.
