Shaquille O’Neal, known as a freak of nature on the basketball court, was shown dominating in high school in a throwback video. Being a 6-foot-7 high school student, opposing teams couldn’t stop the future Hall of Famer.

Fans and players alike remember O’Neal as an unstoppable force during his NBA playing days. In his 19-year career, Shaq has shattered rims, backboards and the confidence of those who tried to stop him. The former LA Lakers star brought a different energy to every time he played. It allowed him to collect a ton of material and leave the league with a huge impact.

A video reel posted to Instagram showed the 15-time All-Star wreaking havoc during his high school days. Not only did he show his power on the pitch back then, but O’Neal also showed his confidence. Asked about the success of Cole High School, he assuredly said he was the reason.

The reel is just more proof that O’Neal has always been an uncontrollable gambler. His talent and his confidence allowed him to become a world-class talent. He retired as a four-time NBA champion, 15-time All-Star and three-time Finals MVP and capped it all off by making his way to the Hall of Fame.

Despite the difference in today’s game, Shaquille O’Neal could still be an All-Star if he played today

NBA All-Star Game 2022

The NBA today is very different from when Shaquille O’Neal was an active player. Back then, teams prioritized post players doing damage inside and playing a slower brand of basketball. Now defenses are more relaxed and officials have different rules to apply. Also, there aren’t many players who focus on display against defences.

The former MVP also said that Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo plays a similar style. However, one particular aspect that differentiates the two players from each other is that the Greek Freak pulls more jumps. If O’Neal was active in today’s game, he would be a version of Antetokounmpo who doesn’t pull any jumps.

The 1992-93 Rookie of the Year expressed his adoration for the Bucks star.

Looking at the matches Giannis has played in, fans can see that few have been able to slow down the 2021 champion. If no one was able to stop the Greek Freak, who could stop Shaquille O’Neal from dominating? Even though the game is more about making 3-pointers, O’Neal would still be very effective in the modern league.
