A number of AEW stars in 2022 have had spells on the shelf due to injury, including Scorpio Sky. Luckily, it looks like he could come back at any time.

Sky has been absent from AEW programming for almost five months, having lost their TNT title in a street fight on Dynamite in July. He suffered from a leg injury which resulted in his absence.

I came into last night’s game with my knee bothering me and unfortunately in the first few minutes I strained a muscle that goes from my knee to my groin. My right leg was useless from then on. 1/2

Fightful Select is now reporting that the former TNT champ has been cleared for some time and is eligible for an in-ring return, meaning he could even return to Dynamite tonight. However, it is said that no creative plans are offered to him at the moment. He was there for Dynamite this summer and filmed some content, but it didn’t air.

Scorpio won the TNT Championship originally from Sammy Guevara, breaking the cycle of title swaps that had gone on between Guevara and Cody Rhodes from December to February.

Prior to his injury and hiatus, Sky was seemingly set for a babyface run and parted ways with Men’s Partner of the Year Ethan Page. Page continued to appear in AEW as part of the company, leaving it up in the air how Sky will return when or if he does.
