The mid-’80s “Color of the Month” concept made a return for the Air Force 1’s 40th anniversary, highlighting just how different the Air Force 1’s reimagined upper leather is from its contemporaries. So, following the introduction of the aforementioned hues, Nike will introduce a “Metallic Silver” version.

The description of the new Color of the Month Air Force 1 Low sneaker on the official Swoosh webpage reads as follows:

“The ‘Color of the Month’ series lets you meet your needs while celebrating a little-known piece of Nike history – the original 1984 Color of the Month series may have saved the Air Force 1 from extinction.”

He keeps on:

“It’s true, a re-release was in doubt at the shoe’s debut, but Baltimore’s athletic stores saw them selling like hot cakes and knew the AF1 would become synonymous with fashion and street culture. They asked for custom colorways to sell from their storefronts…and the rest is history.”

The triple white outer layer covers the tongues, heel tabs, lace sets and sock liner, in addition to monochrome smooth leather trims. While the midfoot Nike Checks appear sleek white, a slight change in lighting angle reveals a glossy “Metallic Silver” overlay.

Smoke gray elements are used for the rest of the design elements. These gray decorations, for example, are added to the heel counters and feature the typical NIKE lettering.

The trainers are completed with a solid White midsole which is perfectly bonded to the Smoke Gray outsole. These midsoles feature AIR branding near the mid-heels.

These soles, of course, are supplemented with the original Air units for improved efficiency and cushioning. These shoes will come with a white cleaning brush printed with the first year of Air Force 1.
