“Military cooperation continues” – Meduza

In an interview with MS NOW, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Russia continues its military cooperation with Iran.

The channel’s anchor asked Araqchi if he could confirm or deny reports that Russia and China are providing Iran with military and intelligence support to target American sites.

“Russia and China are our strategic partners. We had close cooperation in the past, and it continues today. It includes military cooperation,” Araqchi responded, saying he could not reveal any details on the matter. He added that Iran “cooperates well with these countries: politically, economically and even militarily.”

In early March, the Washington Post, citing three sources, wrote that Russia was sending Iran the coordinates of US military facilities in the Middle East to launch attacks on US forces. Donald Trump described the question of the Fox News correspondent who asked him to comment on this information as “stupid.” Days later, Trump suggested that Vladimir Putin “maybe help Iran a little.”

According to Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkopf, Russia said it was not providing Iran with intelligence to launch attacks on US military targets and “could be taken seriously.”
