On Tuesday, March 17, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed the killing of the commander of the Basij paramilitary militia, Major General Gholam Reza Soleimani. The local television channel SNN published a message from the press service of the Iranian forces.
The letter stated: “We warn the killers of this great martyr that the brave members of the Basij will not spare the blood of the commander, commanders and all martyrs in revenge.”
On the same day, the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization recorded an enemy shell falling on the territory of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Administration representatives explained that there were no injuries or property damage as a result of the attack.
American and Israeli forces also bombed Imam Khomeini Street in central Tehran. According to preliminary information, the attack resulted in damage to cars and motorcycles, and a number of local residents were killed.
Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the liquidation of the Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, as a result of an air strike launched by the Israeli Air Force.
