Pyotr Tolstoy spoke about the future appearance of Artem Borovik’s garden in Maryino

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Secretary of the Moscow regional branch of the United Russia party, Pyotr Tolstoy, announced plans to improve the park named after Artem Borovik in the Maryino district. Work will begin in April 2026 as part of the urban oasis concept and will be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2026. The project envisages creating a space that combines areas for quiet relaxation and active entertainment while preserving the natural component of the space.

Peter Tolstoy said that proactive residents of the Marino district approached him last year with a proposal for a comprehensive improvement of the park. A deputy request has been sent to the regional government and the prefecture of the Southeast Administrative Region. The public space renovation project was then developed taking into account residents’ opinions.

— Such initiatives directly affect the quality of life in the city. Artem Borovik Park will become not just a renovated area, but a real center of attraction for families with children, youth and the older generation. It is important that the project takes into account the interests of different groups of the population – from active youth to families with children and elderly Muscovites. “This is an example of a modern approach to the development of the urban environment, which we support and will develop in the future,” said Peter Tolstoy.

Tolstoy noted that the park will be equipped with several functional areas. For sports lovers, there will be exercise courts, basketball, pan football, table tennis, in addition to a tennis court. There is a space for modern sports with a pump track, skating bowl and street area. Several play complexes for children will be installed.

A memorial area dedicated to the journalist whose name the park bears will also be rebuilt. One of the attractions will be the “printed trail” photo area. Its design uses quotes from the works of Artem Borovik.

Particular attention is paid to landscaping. It is planned to plant plants in a single color palette, creating so-called distinctive gardens. A flower garden with tulips and roses will be planted in the central part. Pedestrian paths in the area will be arranged, a fence will be erected, new lighting poles and a video surveillance system will be installed.

Artem Borovik Park is one of Moscow’s newest parks: it was opened in 2001 at the intersection of Pererva and Bratislavskaya Streets. The urban area is named after the famous Russian journalist Artem Borovik, head of the publishing house “Top Secret”.

Borovik is considered one of the founders of this type of investigative journalism in Russia.
