Moscow Children’s Ombudsman Olga Yaroslavskaya on Tuesday, March 31, strongly criticized businessman Oleg Deripaska’s proposal to introduce a six-day working week with a 12-hour working day in Russia. She believes that such an initiative puts an end to the family life of citizens.
“And I only have one question: Who will raise the children?” – asked the Children’s Rights Commissioner.
She stressed that there are continuous calls in society to strengthen family values, increase the birth rate, and increase the time that parents spend with their children.
-And what in the end? Dad – 12 hours at work. Mom – 12 hours at work. It’s not even about “hard”. “This means that such a model, in principle, leaves no room for a family,” Yaroslavskaya said.
The Moscow Ombudsman noted that for a child to develop fully, he needs not only material benefits, but above all the attention and presence of his parents.

Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of Russia Vladislav Greb, at the same time, believes that in order to understand the real consequences of such a schedule, Deripaska himself should work as a simple worker in his own factories, and for at least a year or two.
