Mironov proposed lowering the retirement age for agricultural workers

On Saturday, April 11, the leader of the Just Russia party, head of the Duma bloc, Sergei Mironov, proposed granting workers in the agro-industrial complex the right to early retirement.

According to him, men can retire from the age of 60, and women – from the age of 55, with work experience in agriculture of 25 and 20 years, respectively. The politician noted that Russia has become one of the leading countries in terms of food sales, and the agricultural sector is considered a major source of foreign exchange revenues, but ordinary workers do not feel the impact of the industry’s success.

“Rural workers deserve a wide range of social benefits, one of which could be a lowering of the retirement age,” says Mironov. RIA Novosti.

Before that, the Russian Social Fund indexed state security pension payments on April 1, 2026. Payments to more than four million people increased by 6.8 percent.

The size of the insurance pension depends on the individual pension coefficient and the fixed payment. What other factors may affect the amount of the benefit, said Alexei Govrin, a member of the State Duma Committee for Small and Medium Enterprises.
