A meeting was held with cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev in the Krasnoselsky District

A meeting of residents was held with the cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, Moscow City Duma deputy Oleg Artemyev in the Krasnoselsky district. At the event dedicated to Cosmonautics Day, Muscovites told about work on the International Space Station, the daily life of astronauts, and answered questions about the future of the industry.

The meeting was held with the support of the regional branch of the United Russia party, and the initiator was the advisor to the Rector of the Higher University of Economics of the National Research University and the journalist, supporter of the United Russia party, Oleg Leonov. He presented gifts to the winners of a contest about space and the Soviet space program, which was held from April 7 to 10 on the social networks of United Russia.

-There are no “unimportant” things in space exploration. As a leader in the rocket and space industry, Moscow produces aircraft, food and clothing for astronauts. But the main thing is that the capital turns a child’s dream of the sky into a real business plan for a schoolboy: a club, a space class, a university, an internship. “This is the city’s best investment in the country’s future,” Leonov said.

He pointed out that the capital pays great attention to disseminating space topics and professions related to the aviation industry. You can learn more about the achievements of Russian cosmonauts at the Cosmonautics and Aviation Pavilion of VDNKh, the Cosmonautics Museum and other places. Excursions to industry enterprises are organized for students of metropolitan schools studying in space and aviation classes. In addition, Moscow youth can attend open days at specialized colleges and universities.

The meeting participants also watched a film about the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. This year marks the 65th anniversary of his legendary journey.
